Biblical stories of eighteen New Testament women who Jesus encouraged, empowered, and loved.

When a Woman meets Jesus, BookHow could a man who had no wife, no children, no home, no job, no money, and wandered the hills of Judea with twelve men relate to women of his time, much less women in the 21st century?

That's the question that led author, Dorothy Valc√°rcel, to search for biblical women whose lives intersected with Jesus. As she explored the lives of every woman Jesus met, she discovered that they faced many of the same challenges women encounter today.

INSPIRATION

For the past five days, we have seen how God embraces us with His watchfulness, protection, comfort, support, and remembrance. What has touched my heart this week is that God, Himself, through His words to us in the Scripture, tells us how much He loves us. These aren’t some hypothetical thoughts we’ve read all week long. These are God’s words straight to our hearts.

I pray that after the past few days of studying, there is no doubt in your mind how much God loves you.

As you reflect on our Heavenly Father’s eternal love, I’d like to leave you with this beautiful poem:

   Unending Love

“We are loved

by an unending love.

We are embraced

by arms that find us

even when

we are hidden from ourselves.

We are touched

by fingers that soothe us

even when we are too proud for soothing.

We are counseled

by voices that guide us

even when

we are too embittered to hear.

We are loved

by an unending love.

We are supported

by hands that uplift us

even in

the midst of a fall.

We are urged on

by eyes that meet us

even when

we are too weak for meeting.

We are loved

by an unending love.

Embraced, touched, soothed, and counseled…

…We are loved

by an unending love.”

R. M. Shapiro

May God’s unending love fill every part of your life today.

“How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! Your children take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.”

Psalm 36: 7
